yes how i hated that thing and the god-awful things folk used to do with it. a deep deep hate, revulsion, cringe, blood-pressure building hate.
what was worse, i used to have to use it quite often. if ever there was a reason for suicide, this is it.

seriously for a moment, is there an alternative that is not stuck way back whenever? there must be something. maybe some hideously technical application that requires knowledge of all the latest languages?
not that i wasn't serious about the blood pressure and other effects ...
